  • AWARD: Dr Allen Sammy, NC'61 has been awarded the Republic's Order of Merit (Gold), for a lifetime of public service in various outstanding community and cultural roles - some of these at his own initiative.

    Notably, he has served as Deputy Mayor of San Fernando, and Chairman of Sou-Sou Lands Cooperative, and of the Land Settlement Agency, as well as CEO of the Penal/Debe Regional Development Corporation. He has also represented T&T at UN meetings in various countries. As well, Allen would hasten to remind us of his sponsorship of cricket and scouting activities.

  • AWARD: Dr Kenneth Ramchand, NC'58 has been awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, for academic achievement and international representaion of the literature of the country.

    Ken was an outstanding student and scholar even while at school, and he continued those attributes throughout his career as a writer, scholar and UWI professor. He has won other awards previously, and is credited with elevating the profile and recognition of TT literature internationally.

  • AWARD: Reginald Mohammed, NC2024, Naparima College student, has won the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) 2024 President’s Medal award, a coveted academic achievement.

    Mohammed earned 12 Grade One's in: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Geography, Information Technology, and Spanish. Quite a unique and sensational accomplishment!

    He said the medal was always in his mind as a goal and was the result of years of steady effort. This student has already blazed a path to be followed, and has a bright personal future. Congratulations, Reginald!
